A common nickname during my life has been Bex. In high school I spent a lot of time during class not exactly taking notes, but rather drawing in my notebooks. My sketches were often fashion ads for my future brand "bex". At the time I aspired to "go to NYU and be a fashion designer." Needless to say I never moved up to the snow ridden North, but instead stayed down in the sun drenched warmth of the South, attending the College of Charleston.

At the beginning of my career I was primarily an oil painter. However, I soon transitioned back to that original love of fashion illustrating. I've branded my illustrations differently from my oil paintings. To me, oils are a little more serious, while illustrations are much more light hearted and whimsical. Therefore I began signing all my illustrations bex. I have since gone on to sign all new work (oil paintings and illustrations) with the bex signature.

I love working with clients to bring their vision to life. I do branding, logo, and advertising work for businesses along with individual projects (bridal, graduation, pets, portraits, you name it).

The procedure for illustrations is similar to that of my oil paintings. We decide on content and layout (I can work from photos). Pricing for 8"x10" watercolor and pen illustrations typically ranges from $300-$800, depending on content and complexity. Deposit of 50% is due before I begin with the remaining balance being due upon completion and of course client's satisfaction.

Turnaround time for illustrations is typically 4-5 weeks.
